First I’m really happy to say that A. and I actually made it to Bluesfest, I was a little worried after my adventure at the hospital that I wouldn’t be making it to Bluesfest.

Took a bus from the Rideau Center around 6:30pm towards lebreton flats. A. mentioned that on the bus it look liked there were two types of people. Those that looks grumpy because they had to work late, and others that were on their way to a great party BLUESFEST!!

We got there close to 7pm and I couldn’t believe the amount of people there and coming off the buses. I hope they are well prepared for when the show is done after 10:30. Yikes!

The first thing we did when we got there, was grabbed a beer. Then we went exploring. I didn’t realize how big the stages were. The Bank of America stage is huge! We spent most of our times walking around and seeing things. We didn’t really just sit and watch anything in particular, we wanted to get our barrings right. We found all the stages and then finally sat and listen to Jose Gonzales.  Does anyone know who he is? None of us did, but he seemed to have a good fan base near the stage.

One show that we were interested in seeing, but didn’t was The Blind Boys of Alabama. On the way home, i overheard a couple saying that they were featured in the film, Fighting Temptations. Neat.

The big show that we were there to see was The Tragically Hip. You could tell that the were alot of hip fans out there. Us, we like the Hip, but I wouldn’t say I’m a huge fan. They put on a pretty good show last night. That microphone acrobatics were cool to see too.

Another thing they had last night was a Bluesfest text messaging thing. You text message a number and then it scrolls across the screen. Unfortunately, A. and I both sent 3 messages and none of them got shown. I guess we won’t be doing that again.

We left Bluesfest around 10:30pm. We left at this time because we wouldn’t get home until 11:30pm.
At the Rideau Centre, A. and I had to transfer buses. On our way down, we noticed alot of paramedics, fire fighters and police officers in front of Sephora. There was a guy on the ground screaming in pain. A. said that it looked like he got into a fight. Ek.

Then we took another bus to get home, and behind us there was a very drunk and smelly man asking to get to bank street. Unfriendly, no matter what he told you, you could barely understand and whatever you told him, he couldn’t understand. It was not a win win situation.

We got home safe and went to bed. I’m looking forward to going again tonight. A. and I have a house showing at 7:00pm, so we are going to miss Cord Lund. I really want to see Wintersleep, Sean Kingston and Feist tonight. I’m looking forward to the line up.

As of Canada Day, I’ve been having headaches on and off. On July 1, I thought that maybe it was just a bad hangover, since we were partying for Jay’s and A.’s birthday the night before. Every time I would have a headache, I would just pop an Extra Strength Tylenol and carry on. But then the headache would come back and I would take another pill. This went on for two days.

On July 3rd at midnight, I got up due to a incredible about of pain in my head. The whole right side of my face was numb with pain. I took two Tylenol’s and went back to bed. At 6am, I got up to go to work. Normally, I get up, go pee, have my coffee and watch the news for 20min. My headache was still so painfull, that I couldn’t drink my coffee or watch tv. I went back to bed.

I went into work a little late, I needed the extra rest to get rid of the pain. I thought I was okay, until I was talking to a coworker around 1pm and all of a sudden the pain showed up and I can’t remember a thing she said. I took a Advil Migrain. I told myself that if the pain came back that strong, I would go to the clinic. So,  after I took that Advil, I looked at the Apple Tree Medical Clinic wait times. An 1 hour 1/2 wait. Hmm. I then remembered that Megan has called Telehealth Ontario. I don’t know if my headache was bad enough to go to the clinic.

I called, was asked a bunch of questions like: Did you hit your head on anything? Are you pregnant? Been exposed to carbon-bonoxid (spelling?)?? I said no, it just came all of a sudden. She tells me that this is considered to be a thunder clap headache and could mean that my brain is bleeding. Omg! At this moment, I start to freak out. I was told that I should rush to emergency to get it checked out.

After being told that, I leave work, rush to Civic Hospital and wait 2 hours to be assessed and a CT scan.  In the end, the doctor told me that my brain is not bleeding, but that I do have a serious migrain. I was told that if it comes back again that bad, that I should come back in to get medication. I think that Advil did me good. It hasn’t come back after I took those pills, but oh man was I ever worried.

The good news is, that I’m okay now, was able to make it to Bluesfest afterwards.. with no headache.

On Friday, I wrote a post about feeling topsy-turvy. XUP made a comment that it seems that I’ve been feeling a bit restless lately. I agree.

Friday evening, A. and I went and visited some houses. House showings are very interesting. You can learn allot from house showings. The first house we went to see was a fiveplex. It was interesting. 3 bedroom apartments upstairs and one bedroom apartments downstairs. It looked o.k. in my opinion. I loved the garage at the back. It was a two car garage with plenty of space. I thought this would be perfect for A. working on his cars in the future. A. didn’t have the same enthusiasm as I did for this house. He said that there were allot more serious issues that I saw in it.

That’s okay, off to the next house. The next house was a triplex. It was a disaster from the moment we went inside. The worst part about this house, was that there were people living in it and the shower. Ugh. It was so gross. I wouldn’t use it even if I was paid to. I really hope this isn’t the shower everyone uses. Yuck! The other thing with this house, is that it was slopping in two directions. One was front to back, the other was the right side in. The house was so slopped, that the kitchen drawers were coming out from the wall and would not stay in place. What this house needed was a wreaking ball.

The last place we saw, we fell in love. It may be just the thing that my restlessness would need. I don’t want to give too many details, in case I jinx it. Lets just say, that we are moving forward and seeing if this place is really for us. If it is, we may be renting out some rooms soon. Stay turned.

How can you tell if you’re allergic to mosquito bites?

Saturday night we spent some time in Carp, ON at a friend’s place to watch the Air Show. I don’t know what it is, but mosquitoes love me. I’ve heard that if you eat banana’s they go after you, I stopped eating banana’s in the spring/summer. I’ve heard if you wear sweet smelling perfume they go after you, I don’t wear any of my body mists.

The worst part is, is that when I get a bite, it gets huge right away and stays around and itches me forever! I’m so frustrated about bug bites! I don’t know what else to do. Is there a vitamin that I can take that will repel these bugs?

Does anyone know where there is parking near the canal? I would like to bring my bikes there some time and bike it, but don’t know where to park?
