What are leg warmers?
Leg warmersare coverings for the lower legs, similar to socks but thicker and generally footless. Leg warmers were originally dance wear worn by ballet and other classic dancers. Leg warmers are thought by some dancers to warm the lower calf, but no proof as to any benefit has been proven to the effect of leg warmers.
On that note, for my Halloween costume this year, I needed to decide if I was going to wear tights, knee highs, leggings or leg warmers with my dress. I finally decided to go the tights route, but I can’t seem to bring myself to return the leg warmers. They just look so cozy and comfy.
My question to you is, how do you wear leg warmers? I am not a dancer or wear short skirts in the winter. I’m not too sure how you would wear them. I think I may still return them, but if you can convince me otherwise, maybe I’ll keep them.

Leg warmers. Ah leg warmers. I have some for my Halloween Costume too. I don’t wear them usually, but they are really warm! I’ve only worn them one year for New Years when I was wearing a dress, but I took them off once I got inside. You wear them below the knee

Leg warmers were all the rage in the 80s. People used to wear them over leggings and even over jeans. I think they look stupid unless you’re actually a dancer and need to keep your calf muscles warm. I agree with you. Pass on the leg warmers.

noooo don’t return them! I am always cold in the winter and I wear ankle socks – the leg warmers allow me to still wear the ankle socks while keeping my legs warm
come to think of it…i kind of need a new pair soon

I wear leg warmers under my pants in the winter, and sometimes with skirts in the fall and spring. I’m glad you returned them though; you should be knitting them yourself!

I agree with Liz! I wear mine during the winter to to protect my pants and socks from the snow and they keep me warm at the same time. I love funky colors too!

I’ve never worn leg warmers before, so I can’t help you decide if you should return them, but I would like to get a pair.
