happy birthday to me!

Yesterday was my 25th birthday. I was pretty stoked, worried, nervous, happy, looking forward to turning 25. Now it’s here and gone and I’m okay with it. It’s kind of fun to say that I’m now in my mid-twenties.

A. definatly did a excellent job of celebrating my birthday this weekend. Friday night, we went on the Haunted Walk of Ottawa with Ben and Shannon. It was so much fun. We went on the tour that was themed around Darcy McGees death. The tour guide was an excellent story teller and we defiantly had a good time visiting the jail hostel.

Saturday morning, I was told to get lost for a bit, so I went to the Rideau centre and did a bit of shopping. Afterwards, I made my way to Westboro Village and checked out some of the little shops around there. A. joined me shortly after that. We went for lunch at Puzzles (they have really good soup), then visited Bark & Fritz and stopped into Swiss Pastries for some macaroons. It was a really nice lazy Saturday.

Saturday night we had dinner plans with A.’s parents. We went to the Barley Mow pub in Kanata. It’s really good there, have you ever been? After dinner, my girlfriend D. text me and asked if we wanted to meet to go downtown for drinks. It sounded like fun. So, we drove home after dinner to drop off the car. I opened the door and…..

There was a surprise party for me in my kitchen! I had no idea. I thought maybe we were just going out for a couple of drinks, I didn’t really expect this. I thought we were all going to meet up next weekend when I brought home my new surprise.*

I was so happy. Thank you so much everyone for organizing this party for me. I was really surprised and had alot of fun. Defiantly paid for it the next morning. No more jaggerbombs until i’m 26 (ugh) but still I had a blast. A. getting the cake in the face was one of my favorite parts. :)

The only bad thing (sort of) that happen is that we had another negative run in with one of our neighbours. I don’t know what they’re problem is.. again, more on that later.

Sunday was my actually birthday. I spent a lovely morning curing my hangover and trying to find my friends keys because apparently I took them and hide them somewhere in my house. Found them later under the bed, go figure. After that, we went and had pho withmy brother. Played with his kitten so cute. Later, we finally starting ripping up the floors in the bedroom and relaxed in the evening watching Bon Cop, Bad Cop.

Thank you so much everyone for a lovely weekend. I really enjoyed myself. :)

* more on that later.

  7. [...] November 19, 2008 by XUP A lot of people I know are old or are getting old. I don’t know what it is. They’re having birthdays that are taking them well beyond middle age and on into whatever comes next. Some of them are okay about it, but some panic. [...]
