It’s Monday morning, and I feel like I’ve been waiting for days to be able to check my work email. On Saturday, A. and I dropped of a bag of samples to the chair of the jurying committee at the Carp Farmers Market. Things went well, but I kind of got the vibe that I don’t think I will be accepted to sell there. I think that she thinks that my crafts do not fit the demographic of the farmers market. She might be right.
As I walked around the farmers market, I saw many booths. All targeted towards an ‘older’ crowd. Hand made quilts, $45 mittens, herbs, baked goods, but nothing was targeted towards the children, teens and young adults. My products are. If the chair of the jurying committee doesn’t think that it will do well, I’m sure I will be receiving an email saying “I’m sorry to inform you” shortly. I was told to expect an email by Wednesday this week, but I don’t know if my nerves can wait that long.
If for whatever reason, this does not work out, I will not stop here. I will continue and do my best. It might be mostly over the internet, but I will seek out other farmer markets and fairs in the Ottawa area to sell my products at. I will not give up.
Happy Monday!

I was at the Cumberland Farmers Market a few weeks ago and a few of the booths had a younger target demographic (a knitted purse with a scull and crossbones proved it)so it might be a good alternative just in case.
